The Buinger CTE Academy will provide students opportunities to explore and develop personal and professional goals in order to achieve college and career readiness.

$65 lab fee for uniform, hat and Food Handler's Certification


Course Information:

Culinary Arts classes explore topics such as food safety, cooking and baking methods as well as proper use of commercial kitchen equipment. The courses serve as an introduction into the Restaurant segment of the Hospitality Industry, the largest private sector of employment in The United States and prepares students to continue to Culinary Arts school.

In Restaurant Management, students learn about the segments of the restaurant industry, place setting and etiquette, how to serve tables, food safety and basic cooking techniques. This is a great course if you plan on getting a job at a restaurant. Students gain OSHA certifications in Food Safety and Kitchen Safety.


Culinary I- Students explore cooking and knife skills further and explore basic French cuisine techniques. Students help prepare food for our student run restaurant, Buinger Bistro. In addition, students obtain a Food Handler’s license.

Culinary II- Students gain more experience in the industry through more independent cooking experiences, catering events, and participating in related field trips. Students participate in ProStart, an in class club that helps hone their cooking skills and allows a selected group to participate in competition.
