ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPCOMING EVENTS:

 SUMMER BAND SCHEDULE!

 We will hold our annual Summer Band between July 31st and August 4th for all Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band members.  If you are in town, we expect you to be there!  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact one of the directors.

· All Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band Members will have playing practice Monday, July 31st- Friday, August 4th. 

· The schedule for Monday through Thursday is as followed:

o 8:00AM – 9:30AM – Clarinet/Trumpet

o 9:30AM – 11:00AM – Alto Saxophone/French Horn

o 11:00AM – 12:30PM – Flute/Oboe/Bassoon/Trombone/Euphonium/Tuba/Bari. Sax/Tenor Sax/Bass Clarinet

o 1:00PM – 3:00PM – Percussion

·  The Schedule for Friday is as followed:

o 10:00AM – 12:00PM – Full Band Rehearsal

· Hawaiian Falls – Roanoke!

o August 4th – Times and cost will be posted on the website at a later date.

· 8th and 9th Grade Band Parent Meeting

o August 29th – 7:00PM – Harwood Junior High Band Hall


UIL CONCERT AND SIGHTREADING ASSESSMENT RESULTS!

Both the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band took part in the Region 31 UIL Concert and Sightreading Assessment on April 19th and 20th.  Both bands performed at a high level and came home with hardware.  The Symphonic Band received a "Superior" rating in stage performance and an "Excellent" rating in sightreading.  The Wind Ensemble received "Superior" ratings from all six judges to get the coveted "Sweepstakes" award!  Please give the students a pat on the back and job well done from us! 


 CHARMS OFFICE ASSISTANT UPDATE!

Parents and students, the Harwood Band Program will be using Charms Office Assistant this coming year to keep you updated with all of the latest information pertaining to the Harwood Band Program.  Please take the time to update your information at www.charmsoffice.com.  You will need your student ID number in order to log-in.  You will need to do the following:

1.  Scroll over the word "Enter" and click on "Parents/Students/Members."
2.  Type in HarwoodJuniorBand in the given field.
3.  Type in your Student ID number (ex. 123456) in the given field.  You will be prompted to change your password once you log in for the first time.
4.  Click on "Update Info" and input any changes that need to be updated.
5.  Click on "Save Changes."
