About Mrs. Purser   I completed my educator certification in 1997.  Since then, I obtained Gifted and Talented and PreAP Biolog certification.  I earned my Science composite certification in the summer of 2009. I attend at least twelve hours of enhanced / GT science courses each year through workshops to keep up with new trends, research, and developments in science and completed the AP National training course in the Summer of 2010.

I was born and have lived all of my life here in Tarrant County .  I graduated from Grapevine High School in 1977.  I have always taught here at Central Junior High.  I was a substitute teacher for a year as I waited for a position to become open at CJH.  I wanted to work with the great caring and dedicated staff at Central.  I have been married for 33 years and have two sons who attended Central.  I hope to continue my career here at CJH until I retire.

GO SPARTANS!

About  Ninth grade Biology

Freshman biology includes the study of biomolecules. the cell and its processes, photosynthesis and cellular respiration, cell growth and development, DNA and RNA, genectics, biodiversity, classification and taxonomy, the interactions of plant and animal systems, homeostasis, and ecological succession and adaptations as well as matter and energy flow of ecosystems.  We will be in the lab often and students are expected to behave in a mature manner at all times to promote a healthy learning environment.  We will introduce chemistry at the end of the year after the End of Course exam to give the students a head start on next year's curriculum.

  About Seventh grade Earth Science

Seventh grade science will combine life and earth science.  We will look at Ecology and ecological succession, Catastrophic events, Weathering, erosion and deposition as well as the watershed on Earth.  In the life sciences we will study biomes and biodiversity, Genetics, Dichotomous keys and classification, Adaptations and variations. the Characteristics of life, Cells and the systemss of the human body.  We will often be in the lab and students are expected to conduct themselves in a mature and safe manner at all times or they may lose lab priviledges.
