Welcome to Mrs. Lawrence's Homepage

I can't wait to meet all my new students in August!

Here is my supply list for the 2017-2018 School Year:

Map Colors

Supplies for each class that we will all share:

First Period: one box of vinyl non latex gloves size large

Second Period: two boxes of tissues

Fourth Period: one box of vinyl non latex gloves size medium

Fifth Period: one bottle of hand soap and one package of notecards

Sixth Period: one box of sandwich size ziplock bags

Seventh Period: one quart size ziplock bags

Tutorials:  Monday-Friday 7:45-8:00 and 3:15-3:45

Remember, there is always room for improvement by reviewing each day about 10 minutes. This will prove to be a better way of studying rather than cramming the night before!!! Look over your notes in your notebook or rewrite them.  Use the youtube videos such as Crash Course, Amoeba Sisters, Bozeman, and/or Khan Academy as a resource.  Read the chapter(s) that you are having trouble with and answer questions at the end of the chapter.  Come in for a quick tutorial and go over the answers to make sure you have answered it correctly. You can also use Quizlet to help you go over the vocabulary.

About Me

This is my 12th year in education and 4th year teaching biology.  I am the Student Council and Project 7 Adviser.  I feel it is very important for the students to be part of clubs in order to become better rounded individuals.  I was named outstanding Biology Teacher in Texas for 2016.  I have two beautiful children and a loving husband who I love spending time with.

I have a Master’s in Education from the University of Texas in Arlington and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas A&M in Commerce.

I think it is very important to continue to learn and stay current in my field of study.  In order to do this, I am a member of Texas Association of Biology Teachers (TABT) and Science Teachers Association of Texas (STAT).  I enjoy being a teacher and I love working here at Bedford Jr. High.  I am so glad I have had the opportunity to teach your child.
