Spanish I-B 8th Grade

Spanish I-B is an 8th grade course. It is a continuation of Spanish I that students began in 7th grade. While the same text Realidades is used, the book is completed and a more in-depth study of the language is pursued. At the end of the course, students should be able to read, write, and speak at a novice level, and be prepared to enter Pre AP/IB Spanish II.

Spanish II Pre AP IB 9th Grade
Spanish II Pre AP IB is designed to prepare students for the rigors of the IB or AP test that will be taken in high school. Strong emphasis is placed on communication using all four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. All students have a copy of the textbook entitled Realidades II, and they should be studying nightly. Students are expected to perform a high levels while maintaining a 75 average or higher at all times.

TPRS Storytelling
TPRS, an exciting interactive method will be used in the class as well. TPRS is an acronym that stands for "Teaching Proficiency through Reading & Storytelling." It is an interactive, often student led methodology that uses fun ever changing stories to truly use and acquire the language.

Tutorials are provided daily after school from 3:15 to 4:00 p.m.  Students arrive, sign in and we start working on individual needs. Mornings tutorials are by appointment only.
