Mrs. Barton:  Chemistry

Class Information:

The best way to reach me is to e-mail me by clicking on the link to the left.  You may also call THS at 817.571.0271 x 6230 and leave me a voicemail, although I am usually able to respond more quickly to e-mail.  I am always happy to hear from parents and will do whatever I can to work with you and your student.

Tutorials are available at 8:15 every morning, and after school until 4:45 every day.  A tutoring schedule is posted outside of each chemistry classroom.

Students are strongly encouraged to attend tutoring whenever they need extra assistance with understanding the material or completing labs and homework.  Chemistry requires students to stay on top of their work.  If students allows themselves to get behind, it can be difficult to get caught up. They should come in for help before the day of the test if they need it!

If a student is absent from my class, they should check their assignment calendar to see what they missed.  They should then pick up their makeup work from the "extras" binder on the lab table.  As per district policy, I give students one day for every day of absence to make up any work missed. Labs, tests, and quizzes must be made up during tutorials!  All late work is due by the day of the unit test for a maximum of 70.

I am a proud product of the HEB school district.  As a child, I attended South Euless Elementary School.  I then went to Harwood Junior High, where I played volleyball, basketball, and ran track.  I was also active in choir and band, as well as honors classes.  I attended Trinity High School, where I played on the lacrosse team, sang in the choir, and was a member of National Honor Society, among other activities.  I graduated in 2003 and attended Texas A&M University, where I received a degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2007.  This is my tenth year teaching.
