H.E.B. ESL/Bilingual Mission:

To advocate for the needs of our multilingual population, empower each student to reach his or her full potential and develop positive relationships between schools, families and the community.

Strategic Goal

By the end of this school year 100% of Mrs. Ausen’s classes will meet or exceed the grade level standards (everything we need to know) for Science and Social Studies as measured by the district assessments given.

What can ESL students do to improve their English skills?

Read at least 30 minutes every day.

Practice speaking English with your friends and family

Keep an English journal with new words and their definitions. Try to use these new words in your homework/writing assignments.

Listen to music and watch some TV. Your parents can help you find some shows that are okay to watch. Turn on the subtitles in English so you can read along with what you hear.
