  Learning begins at 7:50am.....please be on time each day.

Students may begin walking to their classrooms once the first bell rings at 7:40am.  

Students need to be unpacked, in their seats, and ready to begin work at 7:50am.

DAILY READING PRACTICE

Read, Read, Read with your child daily for 15 minutes. Practice upper and lower case letter recognition and letter sound recognition.  Practice number recognition from 1-30, not just counting in order.  Make recognition a game by jumbling letters or numbers and having your child identify and place them back in the correct order.  Practice sight words.

REPORT CARD SKILLS FOR EACH SIX WEEKS

These are available on this website to the left.  Click on any six weeks, and view previous, current, and upcoming kindergarten skills.  Families are encourage to practice with or challenge their student with these skills to build confidence and success.

MOOSE AND BINDER DAILY ROUTINE  

The MOOSE and Binder will be sent home each day.  They are used for parent-teacher communication, daily behavior updates, and developing organizational skills. Please review the calendar each evening with your child and initial the calendar date.  Please remove and review papers from each of the following pockets located in your child's binder: Sign and Return, Read and Keep, and Completed Work. 

***This is a great time to show your child how important their day at school is to you, the importance of organization, and being prepared for the next day.  Use this time to praise them for successful work and behavior or to discuss better choices when they have had a challenging day.

HOMEWORK FOLDERS

 We will send homework folders home soon.  Please read the parent instruction letter in the front of the folder.  This will ensure that your child gets the most out of the extended practice we are sending home each week.
