Wilshire 5th Graders Making it Big at Marketplace
Mrs. Trammell's 5th graders recently completed a unit in which they learned the principles of economics, personal finance, and job readiness skills. Then they put their learning into action at Marketplace, a one-day simulation in which students "run the city". Every student has a job, gets three paychecks and purchases merchandise. These Wilshire students "owned" and operated the Café and Radio Station. BOTH teams paid off their loans and made a profit - which is the goal of the day. Additionally, the Café Team won the "Highest Profit" Award for the day. Congratulations to these 5th graders whose hard work paid off! .
