HEB Elementary Honor Orchestra

The Hurst Euless Bedford Elementary Honor Orchestra (EHO) is comprised of 5th and 6th grade string players. Vincent Pugh, Suzuki Strings teacher at Bellaire Elementary is currently the director of the Elementary Honor Orchestra. Members are selected by audition and are required to be a member of the HEB Suzuki Program or studying privately. The group rehearses for one hour after school each week at Central JH to prepare for the numerous concerts given throughout the year.

The EHO was established in 2005 and has been invited to be featured performers at numerous regional and state conferences and conventions. The Elementary Honor Orchestra has performed for the HEB ISD Convocation.  The group has sucessfully competed in several music festivals in the DFW area and earned numerous awards.

The HEB Elementary Honor Orchestra continues to foster music education because of the on-going support form the HEB community and HEBISD. This choir is part of an ever-growing Visual and Performing Arts Program offered in the Hurst Euless Bedford ISD.

February 2006: The HEB ISD Suzuki Strings Honor Orchestra played before an enthusiastic crowd of educators at the recent national Core Knowledge conference in San Antonio. The Honor Orchestra is made up of elementary school students who were selected from the District's Suzuki Strings program to perform for the conference. Suzuki Strings and Core Knowledge are two Schools of Choice programs that HEB ISD offers parents. These programs, along with Foreign Language Immersion and International Baccalaureate, enrich intellectual experiences beyond the traditional academic setting.
