Welcome to the BCTEA Career and Counseling Page

Here at the Buinger Academy, we want to help you choose and try out your career options.   We want to be a part of your career development as you work toward your future success, and we have many resources to help you with this process.

First, we have a career resource center where you can explore career options and learn more about the education or training requirements of those careers.

Second, we have me, Elaine Vaughan, your career counselor, and I would be happy to assist you in learning about and choosing a career.

Third, we have a wonderful faculty with a wealth of experience in various career fields.  They are here to provideyou with opportunities to explore these careers and to develop personal & professional goals in order to achieve what you need for a successful future.

Fourth, we have an expert staff who are here to assist you with any needs that you might have while you are here at our facility.

Finally, we have an amazing state-of-the-art facility, with the latest technology and industry standard materials, to give you a quality education in the career area of your choice.

We provide many opportunities for the students of our district to learn more about our school and the programs we provide.

We host tours for the eighth grade students in the fall of each year, we host tours for the sixth grade students each spring, and we have a week long camp for the seventh grade students to attend and try out our programs each summer.  We also have our faculty and staff attend the secondary campuses beginning of the year meetings to answer questions and hand out information to all of the parents and students.

The courses at the Buinger are open to students, grades 10-12, from both high schools but Career and Technical Education classes are offered at the junior highs as well.
