3/04/15 > Weather update: All after school and evening activities have been canceled.

HEB ISD is canceling all after school and evening activities today, March 4, 2015.

Extended Day will operate with normal hours, but parents are encouraged to pick up their children as soon as possible to ensure the safety of students and staff.

HEB ISD will continue to monitor weather conditions. No decision has been made yet about Thursday's school schedule. Please, check the HEB ISD website, School Backpack, social media, and local TV for updates, which we will provide as soon as possible.

2/26/15 > Rotary Club Speech Competition

Students from L.D. Bell excelle at the Rotary Club Speech Competition. Our students won $900.00 in cash prizes as well as securing L.D. Bell as the top performing school at the competition.

Senior Caroline Probasco won 1st Place and will receive $600.00. Senior David Lee was 3rd and will get $200.00. Junior Jack Lewis came in 4th and will receive $100.00. All three will speak at the Rotary Club luncheon next Tuesday, March 3rd where they will be given their cash awards. As the top school, L.D. Bell High School will take possession of the Taylor Cup Award until next year. Joel Hueske of the Rotary Club will present us with the award soon after our school name has been engraved on the trophy.

2/23/15 > Exemption Ticket Process

Due to the school closings on 2/23 & 2/24, we extended the timeframe for students to pick up exemption tickets until 1:30 P.M. Thursday, 2/26. They must show their L.D. Bell student ID to claim their exemptions.

 

The Winter Trimester exemption list will be posted by 7:15 A.M. on Monday, February 23rd on the windows of the counseling office. Students must check the list to make sure their information is accurate. If the student feels there is an error with the number of absences and total number of exemptions, then they need to report their concern to their attendance secretary before 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, 2/24. On Wednesday, 2/25 the students will pick up their exemption tickets during their assigned lunch period in the designated area in front of the counseling office.

All students must have their L.D. Bell student ID to claim their exemption ticket. NO EXCEPTIONS.

If a student does not pick up their exemption ticket during their lunch period, they may claim their ticket between 7:30 A.M. - 8:45 A.M. on Thursday 2/26 before the 1st exam.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When the 8:45 A.M. bell rings on Thursday, no more exemption tickets will be handed out.

 Regional Competition at Allen High School Regional top finishers

The LD Bell Wrestling team had 3 regional placers this weekend! Alexia Pineda (128) placed 3rd, Jennifer Bacallao (148) placed 5th, and Jordan McGill (285) placed 6th. 

 

Alexia & Jennifer have qualified for the State Tournament @ Cullwell Center in Garland!  They will compete on Friday & Saturday, February 20th & 21st.

School Report Cards & TAPRs

The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), formerly known as the AEIS (Academic Excellence Indicator System) reports, pull together a wide range of information annually on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas. The reports also provide extensive information on staff, programs, and demographics for each school and district.

The School Report Cards include select information from the TAPR.

You can obtain current and past versions of these reports from the  Texas Education Agency website:

Standard Safety Response Protocol
In HEB ISD, we use many tools and processes to keep our students, staff, and community safe.

A critical ingredient in the safe school recipe is the classroom response to an incident at school. Weather events,fire, accidents, intruders, and other threats to student safety are scenarios that are planned and trained for by students, teachers,staff, and administration.

Take a moment to review the document linked below. Students and staff at all schools will be trained and schools will practice these actions over the course of the school year.

Everyone is invited to take the HEB ISD Parent & Community Survey.

Parents, you may have already received a link to the survey via email. If so, please use that link so that you don't receive email reminders.

Once you've taken the survey, please invite your neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family to take the survey as well. We want to hear from people who live or work within the district's boundaries, even if they don't currently have students enrolled. We will use the survey responses to help local education meet the needs of our community.
