HEBISD Board Policy states:

In grades 3-6, promotion to the next grade shall be based on an overall average of 70 on a scale of 100 based on course-level, grade-level standards (essential knowledge and skills) for reading, mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies; a grade of 70 or above in reading and mathematics; and a STAAR score meeting the standard for the subject tested.

Students not meeting District promotion standards in grades K-11 shall participate in and meet requirements of accelerated instruction (AI) in order to be considered for promotion.
