8342/p1342685395_53525.jpgMrs. Christine Belle Cumberledge is beginning her twentieth year, sixteen of which have been as the director of bands at Central Junior High in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District.  During this time, her bands have earned several honors, including being named the TMEA 2006 Honor Band.  In 2003 the Central Band placed third in the state at the same competition.  She was the assistant director of bands at Bedford Junior High when the group won the 2001 TMEA Honor Band.  Her bands have been named Best in Class and Outstanding Overall Band at competitions throughout the state, and consistently earn the highest ratings at UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest. She has served as guest conductor and clinician for groups each year throughout Texas.


Mrs. Cumberledge was named the 2006 Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.  She was also the 2005-2006 Teacher of the Year for Central Junior High.  She has been included numerous times in Who's Who Among America's Teachers and was named to the National Honor Roll's ''Outstanding American Teachers."  She is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota. 


Mrs. Cumberledge earned her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the University of North Texas, graduating cum laude.  While at the University of North Texas, she studied clarinet with Dr. John Scott.  She is a graduate of Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas. Mrs. Cumberledge received private instruction during high school from Mr. Larry Mentzer of the San Antonio Symphony.  Mrs. Cumberledge resides in the mid-cities area with her husband, daughter, dog, and one cat who thinks she is charge of them all.



Mr. Nicholas Wilson is excited to begin his teaching career at Central Junior High School. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education Degree. While at UNT Mr. Wilson performed with the Concert bands on both Trumpet and Bass Clarinet. He also performed with the Brass Band on Cornet. He studied trumpet privately with Matthew Haley, Chieko Matsuyama, and Daniel Wilson. He studied clarinet privately with Angelique Postic.

Mr. Wilson is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is joining us from Denton, Texas where he completed his student teaching at Guyer High School and Crownover Middle School.

Mr. Wilson hails from Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia. During his time in Georgia he studied trumpet with Jennifer Marotta and Lester Walker. In his free time, he enjoys arranging music, playing golf, and reading a good book
