TRINITY'S FIRST STAR TONGAN PLAYER RETURNS FOR UTAH GAME
Fotu Katoa, the first Tongan player to star at THS, returned to Texas for the Bingham game and was interviewed by Fox Sports. While at Trinity, Katoa was coached by then assistant coach Steve Lineweaver and played with current assistant coach Jeff Fitch. Katoa is now the Director for Pacific Island Affairs for the state of Utah. Katoa played college ball at Ricks Junior College, where he was a First Team All-American in 1984, and briefly for BYU. After graduating from BYU, Katoa and his family remained in Utah, but he says Trinity will always have a special place in his heart - "Once a Trojan, Always a Trojan." He espcially thanked the school and the football program for providing oppotunities beyond explanation, and for making THS a place where young people feel a part of something special that they can reflect on for the rest of their lives.
