Using Technology to Learn Heart Anatomy (February 2013)

Bedford Junior High’s Pre-AP Biology classes recently learned about heart anatomy while integrating the use of technology. During a lesson of the anatomy of the heart, Mrs. Ligon’s ninth graders learned how to take blood pressure, tell heart rate, and identify parts of the heart. With the use of personal devices such a smart phones and iPads, students took pictures of their dissections, identified the anatomy, and emailed the results along with the photos to their instructor. The use of technology integrated with curriculum allowed these students to make connections in real life.
