1991 Bell High School Football Team

The journey of success for the 1991 team began in 1989 when this group of players were underclassmen. During that season, their sophomore team went undefeated (10-0) against a tough schedule that included Duncanville, Lake Highlands, Plano and Trinity. And, as Head Coach Tim Edwards would say, “Through hard work, a great amount of time, and belief in each other, this team continued to progress”, so that in 1991 they became only the second team in L. D. Bell Varsity Football to post a perfect 10-0 regular season record. An exclamation point on this gridiron campaign was placed with a decisive 36-7 defeat of their rival, the Trinity Trojans. Impressively, twenty-five different players were chosen for one of the various All-District Teams, twelve made All-Northeast County, three All-Tarrant County, and two were selected All-State. Even though their season ended abruptly with a bitter first round play-off loss to the Lewisville Farmers in Texas Stadium, these 1991 Blue Raiders will always look back on this special year with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
