Owl Scrapbook Oakwood Terrace students raised $1,000 for Haitian earthquake victims.

When an earthquake hit Haiti on January 12th, school counselor Melinda Lineweaver launched Helping Hands for Haiti and students began collecting money. On Wednesday, February 3, Mrs. Denise Rhodes, principal of Oakwood Terrace, announced that students had amassed $1,000.

Funds will be used by the Red Cross to assist Haitians in need. In addition, sixth grade students at Oakwood have been researching Haitian geography and culture and sharing their findings over the morning announcements.
