Posting Assignments as Documents
(for teachers)

CategoriesDocumentsIf you plan your assignments very far in advance and stick to that schedule, you may prefer to just upload a file that has all the assignment details for the six weeks or semester/trimester.

Pro: Very fast...if you already have such a file.

Con: Possible that some students or parents will not be able to open your file if they don't have the right program.

How to add a file to a Document Manager page

  1. Log in and open your Document Manager page.
  2. Click the Edit button at the top of the page to open the black Edit toolbar.
  3. Choose New Document on the Edit toolbar.
  4. In the new window that appears, make sure Standard Mode is selected, then click the Select Upload Method button.
  5. After the window changes, click the Browse button and select the file you'd like to add.
  6. When the progress bar says 100% and Upload Complete, click the Done button to continue.
  7. The window will change to show the Filename, Status, Category, etc for the file you've uplodaded. You should:
    • Make sure the Filename is something clearly understandable.
    • Make sure the Category is set to be the category the document belongs in. (Some pages will only have one category, where all documents will go.)
  8. Click the Done button when you are finished -- this will save your new document and close the popup window.

If you are posting lots of documents, you may want to use the Category feature to keep different types of documents separate. Contact the Assistant Webmaster for more information.

How to replace or delete files

You may need to replace a document if you have a newer version of the same document; for example, if you change your assignment plans. You can delete documents that won't be needed again; for example, the assignment plans for previous years.

  1. Log in and open your Document Manager page.
  2. Make sure the Edit toolbar is shown.
  3. Click on the name of the category that includes the document you want to replace or delete.
  4. Hover over the title of the document you want to replace or delete.
  5. Click on the square Pencil icon that appears.
    • If you want to delete the document, click Delete Document. The document should be deleted.
    • If you want to replace the document, click Edit Document. In the new window that appears, click the Replace button in the bottom left corner. Then, upload the new version of the document just like you would a new document (following steps 4-8, above, for adding a new document).
