While building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, the Communications Department gathers data to guide our decisions:
We are a Continuous Improvement district, which means we treat our school district as a group of systems working together toward an aligned district mission, vision, and goals. The Communications Department has its own mission and goals that support student achievement, quality staff, efficiency and effectiveness, safety, and stakeholder relations. As part of Continuous Improvement, we have posted our 2012-2013 plan for public viewing.
The Communications Department tracks the number of business adopters and volunteers each quarter and reports this data to the Board of Trustees. Adopters and volunteers are an important part of the educational process, and it is important that these numbers increase over time. Department staff analyze data to plan actions for improvement when the trend is not increasing.
The front page of the website features stories that are submitted to the Communications Department by HEB ISD teachers and other stakeholders. We measure the number of features posted -- more features means we're highlighting more success stories online and gives us more opportunities to submit stories to local media.
