VIPS Wins Partnership Award
The District's Volunteers In Public Schools (VIPS) program won the 2004 Outstanding Parent Involvement Award from the Texas Association of Partners in Education. Criteria for the award included quality of program, quantitive measure of successs and testimonials from District personnel and volunteers. (see photo below)
VIPS Wins National Award
The District's Volunteers In Public Schools program won a 2003 Golden Achievement Award from the National School Public Relations Association. These annual awards are presented in recognition of "exemplary public relations activity."
Judges sought achievement in four areas: analysis of need; planning to meet the need; execution and communication of the program; and formal evaluation.
