Tigers Scrapbook Archive 2006-2007

For sixth graders at River Trails, Conference Day was bit different this year. Students and their parents met in the cafeteria and it was the student who led the conference. They discussed their learning goals and their strengths and weaknesses for each subject. The role of the teacher was one of coach, mentor, and advocate. Several conferences took place at one time and teachers circulated and were present for specific questions on issues that the students were not be able to answer. Student-led conferences placed the responsibility for reporting learning where it needed to be and that was with the student. Parent comments were overwhelmingly positive for this process.
The gymnasium and hallways of River Trails have been brightened with beautiful Tiger artwork. The murals were a gift to the school from the PTA. We thank all our parents and community members who support our school and help to create a wonderful learning environment for our students.
