Spanish Immersion Offers A Unique Education Choice
Spanish Immersion, part of the District's Schools of Choice program, is offered at Bedford Heights Elementary School and Meadow Creek Elementary School. The program begins in first grade and is for students whose parents want their children immersed in Spanish. Children receive their core subjects in Spanish. Students who remain in the program throughout elementary school will be fluent in Spanish by sixth grade.
See Spanish Immersion Documents in this section for District articles about the program.
Word walls help students learn everyday Spanish terms.
Spanish Immersion presented a holiday showcase in December 2003. The first grade class sang two holiday favorites; the second grade class recited two poems; and the third grade graders wrote and acted out a series of skits. The entire show was performed in Spanish.
