Harwood Junior High's mission is to partner with parents and the community to create and support a positive, safe environment where all students learn and become responsible, respectful citizens of the world.

Harwood Junior High, part of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford I.S.D., is located in North Bedford and has a student enrollment of approximately 1,000 seventh, eighth and ninth grade students and a professional staff of 75. Harwood Junior High has a history of excellence since opening in 1972.

Harwood Junior High has been rated as an "Exemplary" campus by the Texas Education Agency for the 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2010 school year.

Harwood Junior High has been rated as a "Recognized" campus by the Texas Education Agency for the 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 school year.

Harwood provides opportunities for all students to express their school spirit through our award winning fine arts department, exemplary athletic program, or through a multitude of clubs and organizations on campus.  Harwood offers pre-AP/pre-IB classes in language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. In addition, there are two PC Computer Labs on campus, five carts of laptops, one cart of netbooks, as well as three carts of Apple Ipads for teachers to implement technology in their classrooms. Teachers offer tutoring sessions each school day from 7:45 - 8:05 A.M. or 3:15 - 3:45 P.M.

Dr. Toby Givens has resided as campus principal since 2008.
