STEVE OVERTON

Inducted February 3, 2007

 

Hurst Elementary 1952-1958:  Mid-Cities Pee Wee Football.  Hurst Junior High 1958-1961:  Football.  L.D. Bell High School 1961-1964:  Football:  four year letterman; All District Defensive Tackle and District Offensive Tackle 1963, All State;  The first player selected to an All State Team in any sport from the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District.  A member of the 1963 football team which won the first football district title for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District.  Kansas State University 1964-1968:  Full football scholarship; four year starter.  Coach and teacher at Euless Junior High 1968-1972.  Elected to the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Board of Trustees 1977-1979.  Two term president of the Northeast Board of realtors.  Saved the life of a young man who broke his neck in a diving accident.  Supported food banks for those in need and supplied Bibles for missionary trips.
