Athlete Selected to the Texas High School All Star Game, First H.E.B. Athlete to Receive a Full Athletic Scholarship to a Division One University; Baylor University: Football Scholarship, Started Thirty-one Games at Three Different Positions, Co-Captain Senior Year, Outstanding Lineman 1965, All Decade Team for the 1960s;  Blue-Gray All Star Game 1965;  Armed Services:  Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida, Goshawks Football Team Co-Captain with Roger Staubach. 


Baylor Coach Herb Zimmerman stated that Fred Pennington himself predicted that Bill Ferguson would one day become a captain of Baylor's football team.
