BJH Band Directors



Ms. Davis is thrilled to be joining the Bedford Band staff this year as Assistant Band Director. She is a 2014 Cum Laude graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. While earning her Music Education degree Ms. Davis was active in concert bands, Lumberjack Marching Band, and clarinet choir as well as serving as an officer and committee head for her community service sorority for 3 years. Ms. Davis was a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society and is currently a member of TMEA.Ms. Davis did her student teaching in HEB ISD and is excited to be returning to the district after serving two years as an assistant band director in Arlington ISD.

In her free time, Ms. Davis is currently working to plan her wedding, performs with the Arlington Community Band, and enjoys reading fantasy books, crafting, and spending time with her fiance and their 3 pets.

Mrs. Johnson is excited to begin her first year as Director of Bands for Bedford Junior High after serving as the Assitant band director for two years. Mrs. Johnson graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas in 2008. While at North Texas, she was active in many ensembles and activities. Mrs. Johnson participated in the Concert Band, Brass Band and Basketball Band. She was also a four-year member of the Green Brigade Marching Band where she served as the Student Assistant to the Director for two years, as well as Trumpet section leader, Drill Technician and Librarian. In 2006, she was selected Bandsman of the Year by her peers.


Mrs. Johnson was a member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, and North Texas Student Music Educators. Currently, she is a member of TMEA and TBA.


Mrs. Johnson is in her ninth year of teaching; she spent her first six years teaching in Denton ISD. She served as the Assistant band director at Crownover Middle School and the Director of Bands at Strickland Middle School both in Denton, TX. Most recently, Mrs. Johnson served as the Assitant band director at Bedford JH for two years.


In her free time, Mrs. Johnson enjoys reading, scrap booking, watching movies and playing French horn with the Denton Bible Church Orchestra. Mrs. Johnson is happily married to Kendrick Johnson who is also a band director in HEB ISD and they have one fur baby (dog) named Kessie.
