Great Idea Awards What’s behind the Great Idea Award? When Convocation guest speaker, Kevin Carroll, described how the red rubber ball allowed him to forget about his troubles and helped him feel like he belonged, a light switch came on in many of us. Exercise has been proven to release stress. But most importantly, many of our students who endure tough times, can get a sense of belonging when they are with us here at Bellaire. By providing balls to children in third world countries, Kevin, along with Nike, put some much needed fun and teamwork into the lives of the children. It’s in his spirit of passing it forward that the Great Idea Award will be presented each Friday during morning announcements to a staff member who had a great idea, and in doing so, has helped his or her co-workers and or students. The winner will hold the award for one week, and the following Friday, he or she will then pass it on to someone he or she believes has positively impacted others with a Great Idea… Each week the new winner will also be gifted a pin shaped like a light bulb with the words Bright Idea and will pose for a picture and be featured on our school website for a week.
