Mark A. Chandler, Director of Visual & Performing Arts (1)

Mr. Mark Chandler was appointed Director of Visual and Performing Arts for the Hurst Euless Bedford Independent School District in Bedford, Texas, in June, 2006. Before coming to the HEBISD, he was Director of Fine Arts for the Arlington ISD from 2001 - 2006.

Prior to becoming a fine arts administrator, Mr. Chandler was Director of Bands at Mansfield High School. His previous teaching assignments include Memorial Middle School and Naaman Forest High School in Garland ISD, Hurst Junior High, Monterrey HS in Lubbock and Western Hills HS in Ft. Worth. The bands under Mr. Chandler's direction have consistently earned Superior ratings in UIL events and received many awards at various festivals and contests.

Mr. Chandler serves as a regular clinician and adjudicator in Texas. Mr. Chandler holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Tech University and a Master of Education in Public School Administration from the University of North Texas. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the Texas Music Administrator's Conference, the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association.

Mr. Chandler is active in performing with various organizations around the area and serves as the Choir Director for St. Luke United Methodist Church in Haltom City. Mark is married to wife Sherry and they have a daughter Lesha, son-in-law Kelly and grandson Chandler .
