2)  Q What is AEP?
A
AEP stands for Alternative Education Program. H-E-B has a short term program for placements ranging from 3 to 5 days (crossroads) and a long term program (SOS - Special Opportunity School).
3)  Q WHAT IS ISS?
A
ISS stands for In School Suspension. Hurst Jr. High has an ISS room that makes school more restrictive (takes the fun out of school). Students are placed in ISS for various infractions. Some of these may include:

Excessive tardies, class cuts, inappropriate language, disruption of class, skipping detentions, continued disrespectful behavior and continued level 1 violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
4)  Q Saturday Detention
A
Students are required to report to the outside entrance of the cafeteria by 8:00 a.m. Students arriving after 8:05 will not be allowed. Students will make a handwritten copy of rules, be required to bring materials (books, paper and pencil), complete an assignment provided by Saturday school supervisor and remain quietly seated following the instructions of the Saturday School teacher at all times.
