My name is Justin Ratliff, and I will be teaching Biology and 7th Grade Pre AP Science at Bedford Junior High School for the 2016-2017 School Year.  This will be my Ninth Year at Bedford Junior High School, my Twelth year in the HEB ISD and my Sixteenth Year in Education Overall.

I am originally from Paducah, TX.  "Where the pan meets the handle."  It's the red dot on this map.  I graduated Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in Lubbock in 1999 with a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science.

I began my educational career in Mineola, Texas in 1999.  I have since then taught and coached sports at Scurry-Rosser High School (2000-2001), Harwood Junior High (2001-2004), Cedar Hill High School(2004-2005), Indian Springs Middle School(2005-2006), and Colleyville Heritage High School (2006-2007).

In the fall of 2007 I began teaching and coaching at Bedford Junior High School and I was able to get out of coaching to have more family time and to pursue advanced education.  I received my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in 2010 from the University of Texas at Arlington.  Here is a picture of myself, my wife Amanda, and our son, Nathan.

I have been married to Amanda Ratliff since 2005.  She teaches in the district at Hurst Hills Elementary School.  In 2013 we were able to adopt Nathan James Ratliff, and he will turn three in August 2016.  We share our home with a nine year old rat terrier mix and a two year old German Shephard mix, both of whom were rescue dogs.

My hobbies include playing and hanging out with my wife and son, playing golf, reading and learning about science, and just about anything that could be considered "Nerdy."
