DATE GRANT RECIPIENTS
In 2008, the state legislature approved the District Awards for Teaching
Excellence, or DATE, grant program. It provided funds to be distributed in 2009,
to recognize and award educational practices that contribute to student success.
The Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD was awarded $1.3 million in DATE grant funds. The
District created a plan for how schools could qualify and receive the grant
money, based on campus performance objectives. Dr. Gene Buinger, superintendent
of schools, announced the DATE grant winners on October 15. Below is the list of schools that qualified and the PowerPoint presentation
that provides detail on the program itself.
