Personal Challenge Event Brings Students Together

Adapted PE Teacher Donna McGraw and boys Central Junior High School PE teacher Elvis Gallegos collaborated to host the second "Personal Challenge" event for Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. The event was designed for elementary and junior high school students and held at Central Junior High School on January 31, 2012. Students from Hurst Hills Elementary, Bell Manor Elementary, and Central Junior High School participated in the fitness and activity stations that promote the program's purpose of achieving personal goals in the area of physical education. This unique learning event allows students to participate in various physical activities, which are designed for the individual learning needs of students. The "Personal Challenge" event was held in honor of Carol Butterfield, a former teacher at Harrison Lane. Bruce Butterfield and Melody Butterfield, husband and daughter of the late Carol Butterfield, provided the special T-shirts for all the participants. In the spirit of Carol, they also participated with the students and enjoyed the activities.
