Carol Scalzo, Community Resources Manager for Barnes & Noble Booksellers, a district adopter, hosted two bilingual storytimes presented by Shady Oaks teachers and students at Barnes & Noble in celebration of _El Mes de la Hispanidad_, Hispanic Heritage Month.  Families attending decorated cupcakes and participated in a scavenger hunt with great prizes!  Students who raised their lexile over 100 points over summer vacation by reading lots of great books were recognized with certificates for their achievement in reading.  Thank you to all who purchased books that day to help us add to our library media center’s collection. We would like to thank Ms. Scalzo and our library technology specialist, Mrs. Zorn,  for planning this event for our families!
