Chisholm Park Field Trip
6th Grade

After receiving instruction in PE on how to fish and identify local fish, the 6th graders went on a fishing trip to Chisholm Park.

The students rotated between three sections:

1)Fishing for live fish in the pond, assisted by officers from the Hurst Police Department and firemen from the Hurst Fire Department.

2)Fishing for Heart, where they got the opportunity to earn money for the cause.

3) Math section where they used the information given about local fish to solve mathematical problems, assisted by Ms. Purpura and a representative from the American Heart Association.

For lunch, they enjoyed hot dogs donated by Kids Beach Club, cooked on-site by Jack Terrell.  After lunch, they divided into groups and picked up trash as community service.  To finish off the day, they had a great time playing basketball.
